When your Ziflow administrator enables proof numbering, Ziflow assigns every proof in your account its own short, sequential number, for example, PRF-1. Use it to quickly reference a proof or find it in your dashboard.
Available on: Enterprise
If you don't see proof numbers, your Ziflow administrator may have not enabled proof numbering or have turned off Display proof number. See Enable proof numbering.
Some important things to understand about proof numbering:
- The proof number represents the entire proof. The number stays the same across all versions of that proof.
- Proofs that fail during creation don't receive a number.
- If a version is disconnected into its own proof, the new proof receives its own new number . It doesn't inherit the number from the proof it was disconnected from.
View a proof's number
You can see proof numbers in the following places in Ziflow:
- Proof Details: the proof number is listed with the proof's other details. See About Proof Details.
- Proofs list: add Proof number as a column. See Display Dashboard columns.
- Proof reports and CSV exports: the proof number is included alongside other proof data.
Find a proof by its number
You can search for a proof by its number.
- Select Search proofs at the top of the navigation pane.
- Enter the proof number, with its prefix, for example, PRF-1.
-
Select Show all matches to open the results in the Dashboard.
You may need to add the Proof number column to your list of results to see the proof numbers. See Display Dashboard columns
In the search results, proofs matched by their number show Proof number in the Match in field.
Proof number search works as a substring match, the same as other fields in global search. For example, searching 123 returns any proof number that contains 123.
For more ways to locate proofs, see Find your proofs.
