Don't worry, for more significant enhancements, you can still check out our blog, as well as read our newsletter. If you have questions about these items, don't hesitate to contact our support team.

Private replies to public comments

Sometimes discussions that happen around public comments need to be kept discreet. With this release, Ziflow is introducing the ability for users to reply privately to public comments. Whether you need to provide additional nuance, internal perspectives on feedback provided by clients or outside stakeholders, or simply keep certain conversations under wraps, this feature ensures that private discussions can happen directly beneath public comments without the need to switch to a different communication platform.

Starting today, users who have permission to leave private comments based on their level of access can now do so as replies to public comments. This feature is available when the proof settings allow for both public and private comments, providing a flexible communication tool for nuanced discussions.

Note: private comments are not currently included in proof report exports or PDF downloads of proofs. The same will continue to be true for private replies to public comments.

This feature is currently for private preview only and can be enabled on your account upon request. Please contact your Success Manager if you would like to test this feature.

Text selection and markup: API updates, PDF exports

Over the past several months, Ziflow has worked to enhance our capabilities around text selection and markup. These included color-coding of suggested actions for text-based markup, click-to-copy capabilities added to action tokens, and more. With this release, we’re adding two more small but significant changes to this extensive suite of features.

Text-based comments in exported PDFs mirror what’s shown within Proof Viewer:

When exporting proofs to PDF (including comments), the new comment syntax and structure will be included. While Adobe PDF comments do not support rich text styling, the token titles (Replace, Delete, With, etc) will be present in the comments themselves, ensuring clarity and consistency in feedback.

Enhancements to Ziflow’s API for text-based comment consistency:

The GET request for simple text within Ziflow’s API will return comments formatted as straightforward text strings, such as "Insert : <text> : After : <text>", making it easier to process and integrate feedback into your workflows programmatically.
