Summary: The text annotation tool allows you to mark up words or sentences on a proof. You'll be presented with 4 options:
There's also a Copy to clipboard option.
Available for: Users with Comment permissions and above on all Ziflow editions
How does it work?
The text annotation tool can be opened by clicking on the yellow add comment button and then choosing the annotation tool icon. Once you click on the icon, you can start annotating your PDF document. To select some text, drag across a region: hold down the left mouse button, move the mouse, and release the button when the desired text is selected.
After selecting the necessary text, a small window will appear next to it. Choose the required markup type, which will insert specific tags along with selected document text into a comment section. You can also add your remarks by typing in the comment box and clicking the Post button.
Highlight Text
Press your left mouse button and drag it over the text you wish to highlight. Enter your comment into the New comment box and click on the green button. The highlighted text will now be tied to your comment.
Replace Text
Press your left mouse button and drag it over the text you wish to replace. Enter a comment describing in detail what should be changed.
Delete Text
Press your left mouse button and strikethrough the text you wish to delete. Enter a brief comment about this markup.
Insert Text
Press your left mouse button and drag it over the space you wish to insert text. Enter a comment explaining what should be inserted.
Select Text while holding a Shift button
When annotating text, reviewers can press the Shift (Windows/MacOS) button to draw a rectangle that will select text only from a drawn area. This comes in handy when there's a need to select some text in a table or to copy text only from a certain document area.

Copy the text after the tag & copy the whole comment text
When using the text annotation tool in the Ziflow Viewer, you may be required to copy some text for quicker text edits.
While adding a comment with the text annotation tool, you may click on a tag after you select some text, which will copy the text into your clipboard.
Simply click on a token ("With”, “Delete”, "Insert", et al) to instantly copy the text that follows that token to your clipboard.
Reviewers may also decide to copy the whole text comment after it is already posted.
When you hover your mouse over the comment, you'll see a three-dot icon appear under the comment. Click on it and select the Copy text to clipboard option.
