Ziflow recommends using the Ziflow Adobe plugin for these Adobe products:

  • Photoshop CC
  • InDesign CC
  • Illustrator CC
  • Premiere Pro CC
  • After Effects CC

The Ziflow Adobe plugin allows you to:

  • Create new proofs and new versions from your Adobe application
  • Open your proofs for review
  • See feedback
  • Filter your proofs

For more information, see Ziflow Adobe plugin.

Color accuracy and embedded color settings

The Proof Viewer respects the color settings embedded in the source file. Color profiles, rendering intent, and other document settings defined by the user in the asset are preserved.

If the colors in your asset are not accurately reflected in the proof, open a Ziflow Support ticket so we can investigate and correct the issue.

Custom fonts in Adobe Illustrator

If your Adobe Illustrator files use custom fonts, export your .ai files to PDF before creating your proof in Ziflow to preserve font rendering and spacing.

Referenced files in Adobe InDesign

Adobe InDesign (.indd) files are not self-contained. They reference external images and fonts stored locally on your computer. If you upload only the INDD file, Ziflow can process only the low-resolution previews embedded in the document. When referenced images and fonts are missing, linked images may be missing, fonts may be substituted, and layouts may appear incomplete or incorrect. Follow our recommendations for proof creation in Ziflow or using intake forms to create proofs for InDesign assets.

For .indd proof creation in Ziflow: use the Ziflow Adobe plugin

Use the plugin when you want a faster, more consistent workflow with fewer manual steps. If your team uses the Ziflow Adobe plugin, proof creation is automatic:

  • The plugin exports your document as a PDF
  • A new proof is created in Ziflow in the background
  • Linked images and fonts are preserved

For .indd intake form submission: export to PDF

If you are submitting files through an intake form, export the file to PDF and then creating the proof. Exporting to PDF ensures that linked images and fonts are embedded and that the proof matches your original design.

  1. Open your project in InDesign.
  2. Choose File > Export.
  3. Select Adobe PDF (Print) or Adobe PDF (Interactive), depending on your project.
  4. Upload the exported PDF to Ziflow.
