If you get an authorization error while connecting or reconnecting the Ziflow app in monday.com, the cause is almost always one of two things: an unverified monday.com account, or an IP restriction blocking the connection. Work through the checks below in order.
This article doesn't yet cover every possible cause of this error. If the steps here don't resolve it, go to Get more help below.
Confirm your monday.com account first
Before you troubleshoot anything else, confirm that your monday.com account is verified.
Confirm your monday.com account (select the link in monday.com's confirmation email) before you install the Ziflow app. If your monday.com account isn't confirmed, connecting Ziflow fails with a 403 authorization error.
If you're not sure whether your account is confirmed, or you've lost the confirmation email, contact your monday.com administrator before continuing.
Reset the connection in the correct order
If you already installed the Ziflow app before confirming your monday.com account, removing just one side of the connection isn't enough — doing these steps out of order reproduces the same error. Complete them in this exact sequence:
- Remove the Ziflow app from your monday.com account.
- Log in to Ziflow and go to Connect > Applications > monday.com. Select Open details, then remove the connection.
- Confirm your monday.com account by selecting the link in monday.com's confirmation email.
- Reinstall the Ziflow app in monday.com. See Add Ziflow to monday.com.
Complete all four steps in order, even if you've already confirmed your monday.com account. Reinstalling the Ziflow app without first removing the existing connection in Ziflow will reproduce the same error.
Clear cache inside the pop-up window
Clearing cookies and cache in your main browser tab isn't enough for this error, the OAuth authorization runs in a pop-up window, and that pop-up keeps its own cached session.
- Start the monday.com–Ziflow connection so the OAuth pop-up window opens.
- In the pop-up window itself (not the parent browser tab), clear your browser's cache and cookies. See Clear browser cookies.
- Reload the pop-up window, don't just reload or restart the main browser.
- Retry the connection.
Check IP restrictions on both sides
If your organization uses IP allowlisting, the connection can fail with a different error: monday.com returns "Your ip is restricted" during authorization. This happens when monday.com is restricting Ziflow's outbound connection — allowlisting Ziflow's IPs inside Ziflow's own settings doesn't fix this; the allowlisting has to happen on monday.com's side.
- In monday.com, go to Admin > Security > IP restrictions.
- Add Ziflow's outbound IP address(es) to the allowed list. [PLACEHOLDER — insert Ziflow's current outbound IP address(es)/CIDR range(s) here; confirm with Engineering before publishing.] Use CIDR notation if you're adding a range, and give the entry a descriptive name (for example, "Ziflow").
- Save your changes and confirm the allowlist is active.
- Retry the OAuth connection from Ziflow.
monday.com's own documentation confirms this requirement: "If your monday.com account has an integration with any third-party apps or platforms, you will need to add the app IP to the allowed list in order to use it." See monday.com's How to set up IP restrictions on an account.
This is a separate issue from the unverified-account error above. The unverified-account error returns a 403 when you first try to authorize. The IP restriction error returns a 401 with the message "Your ip is restricted" and can happen even with a fully verified, correctly reconnected account.
Get more help
If you've confirmed your account, reset the connection in order, cleared cache inside the pop-up, and checked IP restrictions on both sides, and you're still getting an authorization error, contact Ziflow Support. Include:
- A screen recording of the error, including your browser's developer console if possible
- Confirmation of which steps above you've already completed
- Whether your monday.com account has IP restrictions enabled
