Define how ReviewAI writes suggested comments

ReviewAI suggested comments don’t have to be generic. You can shape how ReviewAI writes them by adding instructions into your checklist prompts to guide tone, structure, and behavior. Create rules to control feedback so comments are specific and align with your workflows.

Examples:

  • Language requirements
Tell ReviewAI which languages to use. For example, require every comment to appear in both English and Spanish.

  • Failure messaging
Define exactly what ReviewAI should say when a check fails. For example, direct reviewers to the next step, such as using approved assets from a shared drive or contacting a specific team.

  • Content rules
Embed brand or creative constraints into the response. For example, flag forbidden motion styles or enforce required backgrounds, and have ReviewAI reflect those rules in its suggested comments.

Add comment instructions in checklist item prompts

  1. Open the checklist and checklist item you want to add comment instructions to. Select Show ReviewAI prompt description.

  2. In the latest prompt version, select Edit
  3. At the bottom of your prompt description, add instructions for how you would like ReviewAI to write suggested comments.
  4. Save your prompt and save your checklist.
  5. Test the instructions by running your checklist in a proof and checking the suggested comments ReviewAI makes in the checklist item you just edited.
