Updates to CSV data export (in public preview): Date type selector; file-format specific data in Comment report; Manager-level access
With this release, we’ve made several important updates to the CSV data export feature (still in public preview), improving both what’s exported and who can export it:
First, the Comment CSV report now includes richer context depending on the type of file being reviewed:
- Video and Audio files: Start and end time for each comment (i.e. the time range of the comment)
- Multi-page static files (e.g. PDFs): Page numbers for where each comment was left
- Websites: Full URL where the comment was placed—for feedback on multi-page sites
For a list of all data descriptions, see CSV export data description.
Next, we’ve added a Date Format selector directly into the export modal, previously only configurable at the account level. This allows users to choose between ISO format and a more spreadsheet-friendly style right from the export settings.
Finally, we’ve extended CSV export access to users with Manager-level roles. Previously limited to Admins, Managers can now export Proofs, Stages, and Reviews. Comment reports will be limited to Public Comments only. To reflect this, the modal interface now explicitly states “Public Comments,” and the in-context help text has been updated accordingly.
For more information, see Export data to CSV.
Session timeout extended: Default inactivity period increased to 4 hours
Previously, if a user didn’t check the “Keep me logged in” box at login, their session would time out after just 60 minutes, regardless of activity. With this release, the default session timeout has been extended to 4 hours, and now applies only after inactivity. For more information, see Configure general security settings.
This change updates the “Keep the authentication session for” Admin setting, which now defaults to 4 hours. Admins can still customize this setting to match their organization’s preferences, and Ziflow will honor the configured value.
If users do check the “Keep me logged in” box, their session will remain active for 7 days. After 7 days, they’ll still have the full inactivity timeout period (e.g., 4 hours or the Admin-defined value) before needing to log in again. If users don’t check the box, they’ll be logged out after 4 hours of inactivity.
Proof deadline setting: Business days upper limit now set to 100
When setting proof deadlines, Ziflow allows you to use business days instead of calendar days, which is helpful for aligning due dates with working schedules. Previously, the upper limit for business day deadlines was capped at 20 (about one work month). With this release, we’re extending that limit to 100 business days—roughly 20 weeks or 5 months.
The input is still a free-form field, so you can enter any value up to 100, the upper limit has merely been extended beyond 20 business days. For more information, see Set stage deadlines in workflows.
This change was driven by direct customer feedback, including one team that regularly sets deadlines up to 50 business days out.
Now generally available: Ziflow’s Out of Office features
After a successful public preview, Ziflow’s Out of Office features are now generally available to all users. This long-requested capability allows users to mark themselves as unavailable for creative reviews during a specified time period, helping teams stay informed and covered when key stakeholders are out.
Users can set their OOO status by clicking their profile avatar in the Dashboard and selecting start and end dates from the Out of Office panel. For more information, see Manage out of office.
Once enabled:
- A banner appears at the top of your Dashboard to remind you you’re marked as out of office
- A small calendar icon will display your status across the app, including the Users table, reviewer selection menus, and workflow templates, helping teams avoid assigning proofs to unavailable reviewers
Thank you to everyone who provided feedback during the preview period! Your input helped us refine the experience and pave the way for future enhancements in this area of the product.
