Create proofs to review websites. Reviewers can view your website proofs in their original resolution or get a true representation of your website's design and functionality.
Available on: Free Standard Pro Enterprise
Ziflow allows you to review websites in two ways:
-
Snapshot: Capture a static image of the web page so reviewers can comment like they would on a document. Ziflow captures static (snapshot) website proofs at a resolution of 1920px, so they accurately represent your website’s quality and design across screen sizes.
This gives reviewers and stakeholders a true, high-fidelity view of your website’s layout and visuals.
Live website: Reviewers can comment and interact with the live site content as if browsing it directly.
Add a website proof
- Log into Ziflow and select Create Proof(s).
- Enter a website URL in the Website field and press Enter.
- Choose to either capture a snapshot or review live content.
Add multiple URLs at once
If you have multiple website URLs to proof, you can paste them in at the same time.
- Each URL must start with http or https
- Copy the URLs from a source where they are separated by a line break, for example, from a spreadsheet or a document.
Review static website proofs
A static website proof behaves like standard image proofs.
Open the proof in the Proof Viewer to start the review and approval process.
You’ll see the website exactly as captured.
Review live website proofs
When reviewing a live website proof, a control bar appears at the top of the Proof Viewer.
Use the control bar to explore and interact with the proof.
1- Website resolution: Preview the site in different screen sizes to see how it appears on various devices.
2 - Change Orientation: Rotate the display when previewing at custom resolutions.
3 - Interactive / Panning Mode: Toggle between browsing and navigating:
- Blue arrow = Interactive mode (you can browse and interact with content).
- Grey arrow = Panning mode (proofing tools active, interaction disabled).
4 - Refresh: Reload the live site from its original HTTPS address.
5 - Home: Return to the site’s homepage.
Fix live website proofs that don’t load
If a live website proof doesn’t load, it’s likely due to browser restrictions on mixed content (HTTP vs. HTTPS).
The Proof Viewer runs on HTTPS. Browsers block “non-secure” (HTTP) content from loading on secure pages.
To support HTTP sites, Ziflow uses proxy servers. However, if your site contains direct HTTP links, your browser will block them, and the proof may fail to load.
To fix this:
Option 1: Host your website securely (HTTPS).
Option 2: Change links in the webpage from absolute to relative paths, or let Ziflow attempt do this automatically:
- Go to Settings > Proofing Settings > Proof Viewer > Live websites and Rich Media.
- Enable Live websites: URL rewriting.
Best practice: use HTTPS for website proofing
Switching to HTTPS gives you a faster, safer, and more reliable proofing experience. HTTPS is the modern default for web security. Browsers now require it for many features and may block HTTP-only content entirely. Whenever possible, use HTTPS versions of your websites for proofing in Ziflow.
HTTP vs. HTTPS
- HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol): Sends unencrypted data, which can be intercepted or altered.
- HTTPS (HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure): Encrypts communication with TLS/SSL to protect data.
Proof pages protected by reCAPTCHA
If you’re proofing a page protected with Google reCAPTCHA v3, update your settings to allow Ziflow to access it:
- Go to the Google reCAPTCHA Admin Console.
- Open your v3 API Account Settings.
- Under Domains, add the following:
proof-proxy.ziflow.net
