Supported file types and sizes

Ziflow supports a wide range of image, static, audio, video, and web content formats. You can also upload and proof live webpages.

Ziflow is constantly supporting new file formats so please refer back to this page and add any new file formats you would like supported to our Ziflow Ideas Board. 

The maximum file size for uploading a single file proof is 5TB.

The total limit for combined (batch) proofs is 1TB

Ziflow uses the file's extension to identify its type.

You can only use a ZIP file for Rich Media proofs. To combine other type of assets in one review, see Combine and review multiple assets in one proof.

Animated GIFs

Video file formats

Aside from the exceptions below, most video formats are supported. If you encounter issues, contact our Ziflow Support team.

Ziflow does not support videos embedded in static formats such as PowerPoint.

The following formats are NOT supported and cannot be used as source files:

  • HLS manifests (.m3u8)
  • DASH manifests (.mpd)
  • Apple Intermediate
  • HDV 720p60
  • GoToMeeting3 (G2M3)
  • Avid Meridien Uncompressed
  • Windows Media Audio Lossless
  • CineForm (partially supported — some variants fail depending on the encoding software or OS)
  • SWF (partially supported — only if the SWF contains video or audio tracks)

Special cases

  • AVdh (DNxHQ): 422 10-bit and 444 12-bit sources are not supported due to a bug (will be fixed in future).
  • KMS-encrypted content: Supported, but requires pre-signed URLs.

Audio file formats

Most audio file formats are accepted. If you encounter issues, contact our Ziflow Support team.

  • Limit: 8 audio channels maximum.
  • Audio can be a single multichannel track or multiple mono tracks.

Encoding & transcoding

  • Dolby AC3 and EAC3: Supported up to 5.1 channels.
  • AAC and many other non-Dolby formats also supported.

Playback

AAC in mono or stereo.

5.1 support only in Safari and Edge (depends on browser).

Note: AAC audio above 48kHz is not supported in Windows. Attempting playback causes the player to fail.
