How changing, enabling, or disabling the domain affects internal URLs in Ziflow?

In Ziflow, domain changes can affect internal URLs, and it's important to understand how different types of domain updates—whether custom or Ziflow subdomains—impact links within the platform and email notifications. Here’s an overview of what you can expect when making these changes:

Custom Domain Changes

When a custom domain is enabled, disabled or changed in your Ziflow account (e.g., from https://yourcompany.com/#/flows to https://newcompany.com/#/flows), Ziflow dynamically generates internal links, ensuring that the transition between the old and new domains works smoothly for URLs within the application.

Key Considerations:

Internal URLs: Links inside Ziflow (e.g., proofs, tasks) will automatically redirect from the old domain to the new one without issues.
Email Notifications: URLs sent in previous email notifications are unique to the old domain and will not work after the domain change. We recommend resending any important notifications or updating them to reflect the new domain.

Ziflow Subdomain Updates

If you're updating your Ziflow subdomain (e.g., changing from https://old-domain-name.ziflow.io/#/proofs to https://new-domain-name.ziflow.io/#/proofs), both application links and email URLs will continue to function properly.

Key Considerations:

  • Internal URLs: Links within Ziflow will automatically update and continue to work after the subdomain change.
  • Email Notifications: URLs sent in email notifications before the subdomain update will remain functional, ensuring a seamless transition for users.
