Summary: This Zibot will automatically copy & move files uploaded within your Google Drive or Dropbox folder. The Copy & Move Zibot can be used in a single flow or as part of a multi-step flow.

Where is the feature setup? The Copy & Move Zibot can be applied inside the Zibot step when creating or amending a Flow. Ziflow is able to automatically copy & move files based on your cloud storage events.

Follow instructions on:

Copy or Move Event configuration

Before you create your first automation, you'll need to connect your Google Drive/Dropbox personal/Dropbox Businesses. Start by entering the Connect tab and pressing a Create flow button located in the right upper corner of a dashboard. Name your flow (eg. Copy & move every uploaded .mp3 file to the Backup folder) and select the previously added cloud storage connection. Alternatively, you can add a new cloud connection from this page as well.

Next, select type of the event that is going to trigger the automation:

There are 4 types of events who can choose from (4th one which is New folder is created is dedicated for other Zibots)

  1. File is added to a folder - select this event if you want to copy or move files being uploaded to the storage to some other cloud location.

  2. File is modified - select this event if you want to copy or move modified files to some other cloud location.

  3. File is deleted - select this event if you want to copy or move files that are removed from the storage to some other cloud location.

  4. New folder is created - select this event if you want to copy or move the folder to some other cloud location.

Let's now Set up details for your event. Please see "Understanding event settings" for more information.

The above settings let you narrow down files that will trigger the automation later on. You can decide which files (or folders), uploaded where and by whom will trigger later actions. Once you're done with adjusting the trigger settings, click the Next button and proceed with Zibot configuration.

Copy or Move Zibot configuration

You'll be presented with a list of available Zibots, select the Copy or Move option.

  1. Source file - Ziflow is asking what the source file will be to trigger off the flow ie. the file you want to be moved. You have two options:

File that triggered this flow - this means a file that is moved/changed or created in a certain location is the source file that will be moved.

File that is the result of the previous action - this option will become available if you have set up a multi-stage flow. It is basically asking if the input file will be coming from a previous action in the flow.

  2. Keep the original - If you select this option you are instructing Ziflow to make a COPY of the file (keeping the original file in the same location) if the button is unticked the original file will be MOVED.

  3. If a file the already exists - You are being asked what you want the Move / Copy Zibot to do if a file with the same name already exists in the destination folder. You can either overwrite the existing file or you can keep both files, if you select to keep all files then the Zibot will add a sequence number at the end of the NEW files name.

  4. Target folder - The Move / Copy Zibot is asking where you want to move or copy the file/s or folder/s. You can browse the area on your cloud storage. If you are using a multi-step flow the “Output folder from previous Zibot” will display and if selected the Move / Copy Zibot will use the same output folder as the previous Zibot in the flow.

Additional Information:

  • If your trigger event is set to “a new folder is created in a folder” then a slightly different Zibot will be displayed which is very specific to this scenario. The Zibot is called “copy or move folder with contents”
